Here we go (More domestic spying)

Well, there's been a lull in this whole domestic spying issue (and, perhaps not coincidentally, in my blogging activities. I apologize to both of my readers.) However, the Constitution Project and the Center for National Security Studies recently submitted an amicus brief "responding to" the government's arguments that the domestic surveillance project is permissible.

This is kind of wierd (that's a technical term). The amicus was filed without the question actually being present before the court. Of course, given the whole secret nature of the process, and the administrations (justifiable) hesitance to give details about the targets and methods of this surveillance, it may be difficult to get a more traditional legal attack on the process.

More to come when I've had a chance to look at the brief more thoroughly.
